Chester R. Foxworthy, 65, died at his home near the Montgomery-Fountain counties line west of here at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. He had been in failing health six years and seriously ill three weeks. He was born Jan. 3, 1898 near Mellott. He was married April 16, 1919 to Anna Congleton. They were married at Covington. Mr. Foxworthy lived near Hillsboro a number of years before moving to the farm home where he died. He had lived there the past 23 years. Before he began farming he worked as a railroader a number of years. Mr. Foxworthy was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church. Survivors include his wife; a stepfather and his mother, Frank and Effie Swain, who reside at Modoc; a son, Richard of near Hillsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Shirling of Lebanon; two foster sons, Evan Young of Decatur and Arville Parnell of South Carolina; four foster daughters, Mrs. Clara Lister of Attica, Mrs. Delores McClandon of Cleveland, Mrs. Betty McMurray of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Shirley Hammond of South Bend; two half brothers, Harry Swain of Richmond and Marion Swain of Greenfork; two half-sisters, Mrs. Adry Freelon of Modoc and Mrs. Ava Timmons of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Eulalia. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Servies Funeral Home here. Rev. Ross Kirk, pastor of the Hillsboro Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Newtown Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday.
